Listeners Feedback

"I grew up listening to your programmes. My grandma is now 92 years old. She is a long time listener. I know my mom believes in Jesus because grandma told her about your station. In turn, my mom told me about you. How delightful. I thank you with all my heart. You helped me believe in Jesus through your programmes. My mom loves your programmes too. I have been listening to your programmes since I was a kid. When I left home for college, I kept listening. It left a deep impression on me and changed my life. Now I am learning God's Word. I want to be well prepared. Hopefully, one day, I can be a servant of God and He delights in me."

Touching the Heart of Islam

Posted February 2012

Deep in the heart of a Muslim nation in South East Asia, is a town that serves a busy region. There are about 15 radio stations here, but only one is dedicated to demonstrating the love of God and the lifestyle of Isa-Al-Masih (Jesus the Christ) – very very discreetly. Because of the strict laws in this area we cannot even identify the country, but the Spirit of God is there calling out through the programmes, the songs, and the staff daily.

This discreet but powerful witness has helped turn around the popular perception that Christians are decadent and immoral “Hollywood” type people, and the station now ranks in the top 5 most popular. Fox Hill FM * demonstrates a new style of open community radio and, thanks to the integrity of the staff and the quality of the programming, it has touched many hearts and earned the respect of the public.

foxhill-studio-secure

The time came recently when the station's leadership had to decide whether to keep renting temporary facilities indefinitely or buy their own building. Their own permanent studio seemed right and Far East Broadcasting NZ has committed to help the relocation of the station. Please would you prayerfully consider helping Fox Hill FM buy a building and build a new studio? We are aiming to raise $33,000.00 and one donor has already pledged nearly half! Please support missions in the heart of Islam and keep Fox Hill on-air.

* Not the real name.

Donate to Fox Hill FM and bless millions in the heart of Islam.

Thank you

mongman-small Special Christmas Gift for Mongolia - 2011

This Christmas Far East Broadcasting is helping resource an amazing initiative to broadcast the love and mercy of God to people right across Mongolia. FEBC Mongolia is leasing time on 25 other stations, for the 25 days of December up to Christmas day, to broadcast 25 dramatic programmes entitled “Who is Jesus.”

The body of Christ in Mongolia has grown from around 4 believers in 1989 (yes 4!), to over 40,000 today! As incredible as this is, the church is only one generation thin and is still less than 2% of the population. They need the support of the worldwide Christian community, and we can easily do this.

You can help encourage this season of growth by sponsoring a programme, or gifting a portable radio and a Bible for an inquirer or new believer. Please would you consider this offering this Christmas and give generously?

Here are some easy Christmas gift options for you to make a world of difference ...

Sponsor a broadcast - $25 per day

Give a portable radio & a Bible - $55

Give a portable radio, a Bible, and sponsor a programme for a day - $80

To donate to Mongolia please click here and fill in the section “Other project” with your preference (or send a cheque to the address listed).

Thank you, and Merry Christmas

Special Birth Registration Project - Programmes help children become citizens

Citizenship is such a “given” right in our country that we barely give it a second thought. But for millions in one South East Asian country (anonymous for security reasons) the privilege and benefits of being a “registered” person have only ever been a dream, until now. An FEB local FM station has recently begun a special birth registration program to encourage children and families to officially apply for a birth certificate. And it’s working.

philippino var1Consider for a moment how dangerous it is for children who “officially” don’t exist. They are vulnerable to exploitation by drug dealers, slave traders, unscrupulous employers, militia, and criminal gangs (to name a few). They are also in danger of being ignored or mistreated when seeking help from government agencies, and in danger of being mistaken for adults when in fact they qualify for special treatment as minors.

Unregistered children are basically invisible in society and are not counted in the planning of schools and health facilities. Therefore policy-making and social development ignores them!

FEBC is partnering with local government, local organisations, and volunteer groups to produce special on-air programs promoting citizenship and birth registration. These programs are underway now and local children are helping out on-air to voice these vital messages in their own languages and styles. As a result listenership among these indigenous peoples and Muslims has increased greatly.

Your gift to this project will change lives forever. Please prayerfully consider a donation to “special registration project” and post to us free  in any envelope addressed:

Clever radios for Vietnam

radios for vietnam 003 se man

Vietnam is one of those countries where the earthly authorities work hard to restrict the message of freedom in Christ that you and I enjoy so much. In spite of this challenge, and thanks to your donations, the church in Vietnam is “a growing and witnessing church” (Operation World, 2010).

Thanks to FEBC New Zealand supporters together we have donated dozens of these little MP3 Radios (pictured) to Vietnam. They call them “speaker boxes”  and these radios are extra clever. Not only do they tune in to the airwaves, they can also connect to a mobile phone, an iPod, a computer, or any mobile device, and play MP3 files downloaded from the web or phone network! Plus, they play content from a memory chip that can be swapped and shared. This means listeners can hear teaching and encouragement whenever they like, and FEBC distributes 1000s of chips.

Here’s just one response from a grateful listener: May God be with you and empower you in bringing the Good news to people everywhere. He has given me the opportunity to learn God’s Word through your broadcasts. We listen and don’t hesitate to turn the volume up for people around us to listen in, with the hope to bring God’s living Word to them.

Please pray for Vietnam, for the church and for freedom to worship the true and living God. You can also help the restricted church continue to grow and witness by sending them a very clever gift. Speaker Boxes cost $30 each.
