In the West, literacy rates are very high, but in many parts of the world oral cultures still prevail.
According to statistics, 49% of people living in South East Asia do not read or write.
Radio programs, which are often broadcast in the heart language of the target people group,
allow people to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, even though they would never be able to read
a bible in their own language.
