While in Saipan Neils is currently managing the antenna repair work – supervising, rigging, driving the tractor and doing the ground work. In addition to this, he is doing the usual program scheduling and program logs. This is a vital part of reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In oral cultures people enjoy hearing stories, dramas and songs.
Information is traditionally passed on in these formats, mostly as stories. Story-telling radio programmes are particularly well received.
They especially love hearing the programmes more than once. They memorise the stories and pass them on to their friends.

Within days of the massive earthquake in Padang, Indonesia, FEB’s First Response team was there. The five-member team carried a suitcase studio with transmitter, antenna, 20 shortwave radios and a generator. The team leader immediately met with the national disaster coordinating agency who directed them to the most urgent need for radio, which was 48 km from Padang.
The First Response leader said, “I was overwhelmed by how our team was so well received and supported at the very highest levels – God is truly in this.”
The next day a second team arrived with another 100 radios and batteries for distribution to people in the area.
